Lately I have happened across a few incredibly useful links, and I thought I would share:

I have found these links pretty useful lately.

I felt rotten all weekend. It sucked. One of those stupid illnesses where you can’t really explain what is wrong, its like a bit of everything but nothing very severely. Anyway, this made me sit down on the sofa and draw all day long. I figured that I have just drawn stuff out of my head for too long and it doesn’t end up as good as the stuff that I draw from reality. So I got my imagine fx and used the free reference pictures. I came up with this:

I’m gonna upload them all into that sketchpad section. Man that section has some crap in it. But at least you can see how far I’ve come, right?

I got bored waiting for more entries and started this one. Its no where near finished, its still got to have a dragon on it and I’m not too happy with the colours or the heavy black outlines or even his face! lol. But I thought I’d show you guys before I head on back to my job for the rest of the week!

This doesn’t mean that the competition is closed, please keep on entering in the post below this one… I am going to draw as many of them as I have time for! Which just means you have even more chance of winning!

I am in duality. Its weird. I have an extensive background in fine art, but I really want to be illustrating crazy things and getting better at drawing everyday. So basically I want the good bits of both. So I have devised a plan….

You post a sentence or a snippet of a story in the comments of this post, e.g. “A Vampire eating hamburgers in the desert”, I will pick my favourite sentence and draw it. Then I will send it to you as your very own desktop background, and post it up here with your name on it. Not much of a prize, but hey you only have to give me a sentence!

So you see a mixture of both Art and Illustration! I’m not sure its the right mixture, but we’ll see how I do.
